October Polish Pickup

Polish Pickup is gearing up for halloween in a spectacular way! The October theme is Villans and I have a few of them to share with you!

If by chance you aren’t acquainted with The Polish Pickup (PPU) it is a monthly collection where makers have a theme picked for them by the facebook group and they create custom polishes to match the theme. Upwards of 90+ indie makers participate and create polish and non-polish products. The group has grown so much that they now have a separate line of business called The Indie Pickup for all non-polish items, check them out here.

So let’s show you some Villans!!!

We are who we choose to be – $12.50/No Cap

Heather’s Hues, brings you “We Are Who We Choose to Be” inspired by The Green Goblin from the spider man franchise.

A green-gold-purple(extreme angle) multichrome base with iridescent shimmer, flakes, and microglitters which all shift red-green-gold, as well as chameleon glitters in green-gold and gold-bronze-silver UCC flakes.

This polish reaches opacity in 2 coats and dries to a semi glossy finish. It is so pigemented that you don’t need an undie for this one.

Shake a Poor Sinner’s Hand – $13.00 / 300 Bottle Cap

Lemming Lacquer brings you “Shake a Poor Sinner’s Hand“, inspired by Dr. Facilier from the Disney Movie The Princess and the Frog.

A magenta jelly with bright green shimmer and violet/red/orange/gold iridiescent flakes.

This polish reaches full opacity in 2 coats and is deeply pigmented! The flakies come out to play with a glossy or matte topcoat.

MTK Designs – Embrace the Darkness $12.50 /100 Bottle Cap

MTK Designs brings you Embrace Darkness, Inspired by Lord Darkness from the Movie Legend.

A bright red to blackened oxblood thermal with blood red and gold shimmers.

This polish reaches full opacity in 2 coats, though it is pigmented enough that on some nails one coat will be enough. That 2nd coat will make it richer though.

Watch out for an upcoming blog on the MTK October release and IPU contribution. It all involves this polish!

We are the poison….. We are venom! – $11.00 / 75 Bottle Cap

Sassy Cats Lacquer brings you “We are the Poison…We are Venom!” Inspired by the upcoming Venom movie due to release in October!

A black jelly based polish with micro holo flakes, micro rose pearl flakes, silver white, midnight, gun metal flakes with red & purple shimmer.

This polish reaches full opacity in 3 thin coats and dries to a semi matte finish.

Shameless – $12.00 / No Cap

Sassy Pants Polish was inspired by Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones, one of my favorite Villans to hate!

Shameless” is a red-leaning copper chock full of scattered holographic glitters with red/orange/gold UCC flakies.

This polish reaches full opacity in 2 coats and dries to a semi textured matte finish. A coat of your favorite top coat will smooth things down and honestly makes this polish shine!

No Man Can Kill Me – $12.00 / 200 Bottle Cap

Static Lacquer is serving up “No Man Can Kill Me”  inspired by the Witch King of Angmar also known as the Lord of Morgul and leader of the ring wraiths from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.A blackened jelly base with a ton of green shimmer, holo flakes and ucc flakes.

This polish reaches full opacity in 2 – 3 coats and has a green and blue shimmer at extreme angles and dries to a semi glossy finish. I recommend you go for the 3rd coat to deepen the green/blue glow.

This is going to be another fun month with PPU polishes and a great variety in shades and finishes. So which are you getting?!?
